DESCRIPTION: Samuel Norton, Fish Street Hill, London (listed simply as "pre-1773"), 8-day double-fusee bracket clock, bell top mahogany case with figured veneers and brass handle, bracket feet. The signed brass and silvered dial has strike/silent switch in arch, case spandrels, date aperture, blued steel hands, striking hours on bell, verge escapement, floral engraved back-plate, clock and original bracket measure 29 inches together by 12 inches at bracket top, clock alone 20 inches, ca 1770.
CONDITION: Running, good catgut fusee cords, beautifully restored mvt and dial, case with many cracks in wood as shown.
